Already coated? Topcoat refresh.
If your flake floor is sound but the topcoat has gone dull or the joints have opened up, it doesn't need a new floor. We sand the old topcoat, re-caulk the cracks and lay down a fresh UV-stable topcoat. See it on a patio: Call #002.

Five layers.
Zero shortcuts.
Scroll through the layers from the slab up. This is what's under every 5 Alarm floor.
Cross-section · not to scale
- Layer 01
Concrete slab
Before anything else, we look at what you have: cracks, moisture, old paint or sealer, and how the slab was finished.
A coating is only as good as what it's bonded to.
- Layer 02
Diamond grind
We grind the whole floor with diamond tooling and vacuum the dust as we go. Cracks and pits are filled and ground flush.
Grinding opens the concrete so the coating bites in instead of sitting on top. This is where cheap floors cut corners.
- Layer 03
Base coat
A pigmented base coat is rolled out over the ground slab. It bonds to the concrete and sets the background color.
It's the layer the flake locks into.
- Layer 04
Full flake broadcast
While the base is wet, vinyl flake is thrown by hand until no base shows. The loose chips are scraped and cleared.
Full coverage gives the texture, grip and color, and hides everyday dust and wear.
- Layer 05
Polyaspartic topcoat
A clear polyaspartic topcoat seals everything in. It's UV-stable, so it won't yellow in the sun the way many epoxies can.
That's the gloss you see, and what stands up to tires, oil and salt.
